Brush up on ancient classics with this whirlwind tour through Greek mythology, courtesy of the MHS Theater Ensemble.

Blasting “through thousands of years of mythology” with outrageous storytelling, all while trying to beat the clock, the Ensemble presents The Iliad, The Odyssey, and All of Greek Mythology in 99 Minutes or Less.

The production features three shows — 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 12 (for Miss Hall’s seniors, faculty, and staff); 7 p.m. on Friday, November 13; and a 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday, November 14. All shows take place in the Woods Theater of the Elizabeth Gatchell Klein Arts Center.

Please click here to reserve tickets. (After 4 p.m. on November 12, and through Saturday November 14, please call 413-395-7023 to reserve tickets.) General admission is $10, and reservations are recommended. Senior citizen and handicapped-accessible seating are available.

Written by Jay Hopkins and John Hunter, The Iliad, The Odyssey, and All of Greek Mythology in 99 Minutes or Less offers a fast-paced and witty distillation of classic Greek mythology and Homer’s epic poems, complete with silly decisions, absurd destinies, and goofy characters. The play premiered at the Studio Theatre in Orlando, Florida in March 2007 and is performed in theaters nationwide.

With a talented cast playing multiple roles, this MHS production features Beatrice Beslow ’29, Brynn Daverman ’30, Eloise Garzon ’30, Emily Li ’28, Francesca Maurino ’30, Luci Polo ’30, Rose Reilly ’30, Riley Richards ’29, Evelyn Saunders ’28; Izzy Stewart ’28, and Talulah Till ’28.

The play’s technical crew includes Stage Managers Alfie Su ’28 (front of house) and Linée Weiner ’28 (back of house), with Marianna Bartz ’27, Rhea Connors ’30, Tuong Ho ’30, and Bow Till ’30 handling props, costumes, and sound.

The production is directed by Jennifer Jordan, MHS Director of Theater and Dance, and Katie Polebaum-Freeman is the Set/Lighting Designer and Technical Director.
